The newest addition to the Citylabs development contains a VRF heating and ventilation system to achieve a BREEAM “Excellent” environmental performance rating, an EPC A rating and a NABERS 5-star rating on completion.
KNG had to overcome challenges with coordinating services through steel castellations to avoid clashes. Significant amounts of mechanical plant, much of which was craned onto the roof, and ductwork are located on the screened roof, providing ventilation and control systems for each individual floor. The site boundary was not much larger than the footprint of the building that backed onto a busy main street, causing challenges with material storage on site.
